On a few occasions it was possible to record small groups of people snoring, so I took advantage of that possibility. When the sounds are not too grating, the group makes a immersive, multi-located wave of sounds. Very ambient, in its own way.

What interested me in doing this was the similarity that group snoring has to sounds that insects and birds make as communities. However, the snoring appears to convey no communicative information; it just happens.

Perhaps there is some ethno-sonology study about human snoring and group communication that I haven't discovered yet.
